I’m Cecily. It’s so nice to meet you!

I believe that life is about constantly seeking adventure, about exploring new places, and most of all, about the connections you create with other people. Photography is so much about trust, and I think it is the ability to create a connection that creates something really special in a photo!

I first fell in love with photography while I was living abroad in Parma, Italy for a semester during college. I spent the semester traveling throughout Europe, and I brought my camera with me on all of my adventures.  I realized, through this experience, what a powerful tool photography could be. Traveling with my camera allowed me to document all of the incredible moments I experienced, and to share my memories with my friends and family back home.

A few years after graduating college in Boston, I moved back to Italy to attend culinary school. I lived in Firenze for an entire year learning how to cook, but I found myself spending all of my time outside the kitchen exploring the city with my camera. The elements of the hospitality industry I found myself drawn to were the same things I found in photography: creativity, storytelling, and community. Taking photographs gave a me new sense of purpose - a reason to seek out places where I might not otherwise go, to connect with people that I might not otherwise meet, and to see my surroundings in an entirely new way.

Since returning to the States in 2014, I have lived all over the country - in Virginia, Boston, San Francisco, Fort Lauderdale, and New York.

For me, creating photographs has always been about finding the most authentic, intentional way to tell stories. I believe we experience life in moments, and if we really pay attention, we can find and create so much joy and magic within those moments. I would love to be a part of your story! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, or just to say hello.
